Wanting to create the perfect kitchen light, we’ve taken one of our most popular pendants – our Butler - and given it a cleverly weighted pulley system so you can adjust its height to achieve the best light for tasking or entertaining. With its elegant silhouette and warm, on-trend antiqued brass tones, our Butler Rise and Fall Pendant Light is a classic kitchen pendant that will look fabulous hung above a
kitchen table,
island or breakfast bar.
The Butler is hand crafted from solid, natural brass and is lightly antiqued for a subtle, aged look that reminds us of the brass and copperware found in beautiful Victorian homes. It features a spun brass shade, period detailing on the collar and heritage-look brown braided flex. The light has a lovely tactile quality that befits its handmade nature. All
Jim Lawrence lights are made using traditional metal working techniques and are hand finished to the highest standards here at our Suffolk workshop.
- The Butler Rise and Fall is supplied with 2m of bronze braided cable and our Georgian Ceiling Rose in the same finish.
- Fully extended, it has a drop of 160cm from the ceiling to the bottom of the light.
- At its shortest it is 86cm from ceiling to bottom.

Finish: Antiqued Brass: A beautiful, natural finish produced by distressing the brass to create a soft patina that is then treated with antiquing solution to speed up the natural tarnishing process and create a lovely aged look that will darken naturally over time. CAN I CHOOSE A DIFFERENT FINISH?
We can often make our products in a different colour as a bespoke modification, as long as the alternative is a Jim Lawrence

Bespoke Services Guide >CAN I ALTER THE LENGTH?
Generally our pendents can be shortened on installation, but we do not recommend it with the Butler Rise & Fall as it may affect the weight and look unbalanced. Likewise, we cannot make this pendant with a longer cable as would affect the weight distribution.
CAN I USE THIS LIGHT ABROAD?
Yes, but it depends where you are. This light can be adapted to take an E14 (screw bulb) lamp holder for use in Europe and can be used in countries with the same 230V mains electric current at the UK, such as Europe, Australia, New Zealand and parts of Africa and the Middle East. It cannot be rewired for use in the USA or Canada.
