"NOTHING SIMILAR IS QUITE THE SAME"
From our earliest beginnings, when the Jim Lawrence business was set up from the kitchen table of husband and wife Jim and Sheena Lawrence's Suffolk farmhouse, we have remained steadfast in our aim; to be an outstanding British manufacturer of iconic, traditionally made lighting and home accessories.
As a true family business, still run by Jim and Sheena, it is our genuine belief that our business is only as strong as the links that bind it. With an amazingly high staff retention rate (averaging 90% annually) and many loyal customers, we understand the value of the Jim Lawrence community.
We also believe that by focusing on the quality of materials, skilled craftsmanship, outstanding customer service and the well-being of the Jim Lawrence community, we can create a sustainable and profitable business for generations to come.
THE JIM LAWRENCE STORY
Refined, luxurious lights and home accessories are the lifeblood of our business and understanding how they can change the mood of your interior lies at the heart of what we do. Our products are traditional in design and yet perfectly honed for modern day living, with each piece having a unique signature that means no two are the same, making them even more special.
All our designs are wonderfully tactile so they feel as good in your hands as they look in your home. That is because we know that by using the best materials - the highest-grade steel, and solid, natural brass and copper metals, and by investing in skilled craftsmanship, our products are of the very best build that will give you years of service and enjoyment.
At Jim Lawrence, each and every piece is hand finished to the highest standards and inspected by our talented teams at our Suffolk workshops before being packed and dispatched with the utmost care to ensure you receive it in perfect condition.
PRODUCT FINISHES
We are great believers in British manufacturing and are proud of our heritage in engineering and ironwork. Anything we don't make ourselves, we source from British manufacturers wherever possible because we believe in supporting UK companies and it makes good business sense.
By selling directly to our customers and prioritising UK industry, we can ensure our products meet our exacting quality control standards and keep control over the supply and demand. To this end, all our products are designed, assembled and hand finished in-house, using traditional techniques that have been passed down through generations.
In our workshops we employ a wide array of processes - laser cutting, spinning, welding, blacksmithing, antiquing, beeswaxing, polishing and painting, as well as making shades, curtains and blinds.
Thanks to our recent acquisition of artisan glassmakers - Suffolk Glass - we can also now include glass blowing and pressing to our list of skills.

EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE
We are immensely proud of our customer service and keep it at the forefront of our business as we believe that when you invest in a Jim Lawrence product, you invest with us.
We have a dedicated team of knowledgeable and friendly sales and customer service staff who are always here and happy to answer your questions and guide you through the process of selecting the right products to suit your needs.

Jim Lawrence is proud to be a member of the Lighting Industry Association Quality Assurance Scheme (LIAQA).
It means that we have achieved recognition by the UK’s leading lighting trade association that both we as a company – and our lighting products - conform to the highest standards in quality and safety.
COMPLIANCE
As a company, we recognise the responsibility for us to do what we do ethically, fairly and with as little impact on the environment as possible. We design products to last, with a quality of build and classic style that will endure.
As an e-commerce company, we know customers care about the packaging we use, which is why we do our best to tread the line between wasteful packaging and broken products, and the environmental costs of remaking and re-sending them.
SUSTAINABILITY
We are an ever-growing family of talented craftsmen and business influencers with a roll your sleeves up and get it done mentality – there are no corporate boardrooms here!
People tend to stay. We have an amazingly high staff retention rate that is a testament to our belief that our business is only as strong as the people in it.
If you are looking for an interesting job that challenges and stretches you, in an environment where it’s not unusual to be greeted by a big, friendly Labrador, then we are the company for you!
