DESCRIPTION One of the first lights we designed at Jim Lawrence – and one of the most popular – our Single Cottage Wall Light has a strong, unfussy design that is ideal for country modern interiors and lends itself for use in bedrooms, kitchen diners and living rooms. Its fine proportions, beautiful ribbon detailing and generously sized drip trays oozes an elegant simplicity that is pleasing to the eye and has a versatility that looks equally at home in a traditional or contemporary setting. All Jim Lawrence products are made using traditional metal working techniques and are hand finished to the very highest standards here at our Suffolk workshop. This wall light is hand crafted from high quality steel and beeswaxed for a soft black look. It has a lovely weighty quality that befits is handmade nature and is an an excellent choice for anyone wishing to update their interior without losing any sense of period charm. The metal is heated until it darkens and then dipped in natural beeswax which gives is a lovely soft black wrought iron effect which looks fabulous in any traditional or contemporary interior. As beeswax is a natural finish that reacts with the underlying metal during the forging process, it often has a subtle, slightly mottled patina with undertones of deep grey or ochre.
