The Hanson Library Wall Light also features a narrow, deep, rectangular backplate that is ideal for fitting onto shelves, storage units or brightening up those dark nooks and crannies. The Hanson lends itself to any sized wall, looking elegant on its own in a small space, fitted above a desk in a home study or next to your favourite armchair or sofa for additional reading light. It is also popular as a bedside light and is available without a pull cord if you are looking for a more contemporary appearance. This wall light is made from forged iron and traditionally beeswaxed for a soft, black, rustic appearance. The metal is heated until it darkens and then dipped in natural beeswax which gives it a lovely soft black wrought iron effect that looks fabulous in any traditional or contemporary interior. As beeswax is a natural finish that reacts with the underlying metal during the forging process, it often has a subtle, slightly mottled patina with undertones of deep grey or ochre. It is not waterproof, so will need to be re-waxed occasionally.Kindly note, we do not recommend the beeswax finish for use in a humid environment, as it is harder to maintain and may rust.
