The Deben combines a simple, contemporary design with some old fashioned metal detailing to produce a stunningly elegant pendant that would look fabulous suspended over your dining table, kitchen island or breakfast bar. Like all our glass pendants, it has been designed to hang above your table or units where the glass will make the most of any available light without losing any sense of space.
The Deben is similar to our Shotley Pendant but features a narrower hand blown, clear glass ‘bowl’ shade, and has less decorative detailing in the metalwork which gives it a more contemporary edge. It’s simple, straight lines and vintage-style braided cable makes it a great choice to update any room in your home. Pair it with one of our heritage LED bulbs with their old fashioned filaments and you have the perfect light for modern or traditional kitchens.

Jim Lawrence lights are made using traditional metal working techniques and are hand finished to a very high standard at our Suffolk workshop. The Deben has been hand forged from high quality steel that polished to a deep gunmetal grey for a touch of industrial chic, and has a lovely weighty quality that befits its handmade nature.

Polished: A gunmetal finish that highlights the natural colour of polished, lacquered iron for a vintage or industrial look that suits a contemporary setting and will update a traditional one. To produce the finish, we coat our steel products in a metallic lacquer that emulates the texture and patina of iron and gives the product great character that looks wonderful with grey or natural colourways and works particularly well with other metallic finishes such as nickel. Our Polished finish works well with natural building materials such as brick, stone, plaster and woodwork.
