In days gone by, home adornment was unaffordable for most, so blacksmiths designed metal fittings to be as pretty as they were practical. Our brass butt hinges are smart, solid brass hinges that are ideal for use on interior and exterior domestic doors and should last for years. They are generally fitted at the top and bottom of a door, but for a heavier door you may also need one in the middle. Shown above in our antiqued brass finish, these hinges (sold individually) are antiqued for a subtle, aged appearance. We also make a brass butt hinge with acorn finials as an alternative style. This hinge is washered and has no bearings. It supports a maximum weight of 40kg. Hinges sold individually.
