Complete the look and efficiency of your fireplace with this beautifully forged, solid cast iron, Fleur de Lis fireback in matt black that is based on a design that Jim Lawrence remembers from his childhood. The original belonged to his mother and was permanently in use at the family home.
Featuring the date 1784, which was when the original fireback was made, and two beautiful Fleur de Lis flower details, the fire plate will add decorative interest to your room when not in use and increase the effectiveness of your fire when lit.
A fireback protects the back wall of your fireplace from splitting and crumbling. It also absorbs the heat that would otherwise be lost and releases it back into the room - rather like a radiator - and can increase the efficiency of your fireplace by 50%. All our fireside products are hand cast using traditional blacksmithing techniques that have remained unchanged for generations, and are hand finished to the highest standards here at our Suffolk workshop.
