DESCRIPTION We are thrilled to bring you a beautiful new 12mm brass pole and range of accessories especially designed to be used as a stylish cafe rod, perfect for fitting in kitchen windows, downstairs loos, hallways or any room where you'd like a little privacy whilst maximising the light. Cafe rods are slim curtain poles used to hang short net, voile or fine fabric curtains that are fitted, usually in the window recess, about a third of halfway down a window to afford some privacy without blocking the upper part of the window. Cafe curtain rods make an excellent, and bang up to date, alternative to traditional net curtains and shutters as they enable you to add a more decorative touch to your window dressing, while ensuring you have privacy without blocking out all the light. Our 12mm brass cafe rods are made from natural, unlacquered brass and finished in our signature antiqued brass for a subtle, aged appeal. These rods can be used with any of our range of 12mm cup, recess, sleeve and capped end brackets. The rods are hollow, so if you wish to the button finials on a front-facing rod, they slide into the ends of the rod. These poles are primarily designed to be used as cafe rods. You can use them as a curtain pole but please be aware, if over 210cm long, the pole will be supplied in two (or more) equal parts. We recommend our range of beautiful, lightweight voiles as the perfect fabric for your cafe rods, or for a slighty thicker weave, our collection of luxuriously soft linens. PRODUCT INFORMATION Pole Length Any length of pole can be ordered up to 360cm. If over 150cm long we recommend using a central support bracket If over 210cm long, the pole will be supplied in two (or more) equal parts with a joiner rod. The join will need to be covered by a centre bracket. Fabric Type: Most curtain fabrics can be used with this rod, but it has primarily been designed for use with lightweight voiles, net and soft linens. See Customer's also bought below. If your cafe rod is side fitting, ie fixed to the side walls within a window recess, you will need to use either the 12mm Recessed Brackets or Recess Cup Brackets. If your rod is front fitting over the window, you can use our 12mm Sleeve Brackets with the 12mm Button Finials, or our 12mm Capped End Sleeve Brackets WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM LENGTH I CAN HAVE? As these rods are custom made, you can have them cut to any length, but we recommend using a 12mm Sleeve Bracket as a centre bracket if over 150cm. This means your curtain will not hang across the full length of the rod but will meet at the bracket in the middle. WHAT FABRIC SHOULD I USE? You can use any type of curtain fabric, but cafe rods are primarily designed with lightweight fabrics like voiles, nets or linens in mind, to allow as much light through while affording you some privacy.
