Each of our lampshades is carefully handmade at our Suffolk Workshop by our team of expert shade-makers. Silk dupion shades are always the most popular because pure silk is a uniquely beautiful fabric with a luxurious textured quality and richness that cannot be reproduced in other materials.
All our silk shades have a fabulous natural sheen and distinctive weave that makes them stand out from the rest, however, as a natural fabric they do need looking after as they can fade and deteriorate over time. A 12w max LED only bulb should be used with this shade (we do not recommend halogen bulbs).

As a natural fibre, silk dupion has a prominent, textured slub that is irregular in appearance. There may also be variations in tone or weave which are characteristic of pure silk but not to everyone's taste, especially if you are after a more uniform look. As a raw fabric, fading and deterioration may occur over time, especially in sunlight and is more noticeable in darker colours, so we do not recommend you use silk dupion for lampshades in or near a window. Please take a look at our lovely collection of faux silks which we have sourced for customers wanting the look and feel of pure silk in a more robust fabric.
