The Nayland is the smaller brother to our lovely Brompton Reading Lamp. Charmingly hand forged from solid steel, it features a curved shade arm and tripod stand that can be adjusted in height making it a good choice as a reading light in a bedroom, living room or study.
This Nayland is finished in beeswax, a traditional technique used since Tudor times that produces a fabulous soft black, forged iron look to suit any traditional or contemporary interior. The lamp’s height can be adjusted between 135 and 170cm, making it ideal as a reading light in a smaller room. All
Jim Lawrence products are made using traditional metal working techniques that have been passed down through the generations and are finished to the highest standards at our Suffolk workshops.
- The Nayland requires a PENDANT lampshade, for more information please read our Shade Orientation Guide.
- We recommend our dimmable Classic GLS LED Filament Bulb as the perfect accompaniment for your lamp as has the look of a heritage bulb, gives off a lovely warm white light, is energy efficient, lights to full strength immediately and is dimmable.

Finish
Antiqued Brass: A beautiful, natural finish produced by distressing the brass to create a soft patina that is then treated with antiquing solution to speed up the natural tarnishing process and create a lovely aged look that will darken naturally over time. Antiqued Brass is an incredibly versatile finish that works well with any colourway and natural building materials such as brick, stone, plaster or woodwork and looks equally at home in a modern property as it does a period one.
