DESCRIPTION
Our stunning Chester Door Handle range takes its inspiration from a heritage of great British design, incorporating traditional faceted detailing with the best modern materials and handcrafted skills to produce a great quality handle that will look fabulous for years to come.

The Chester is a classic handle available in a variety of back plate styles and our forged iron and antiqued brass finishes to ensure it suits any style of door. The Shaftesbury back plate is octagonal in shape with faceted sides, perfect for a contemporary or traditional feel to your door. All Jim Lawrence products are made using traditional metal working techniques and are hand finished to the very highest standards at our Suffolk workshop. This handle is made from high quality forged iron and traditionally beeswaxed for a soft black rustic look that will never date.
  • The handles are supplied as a pair with backplates and fixing screws in the same finish.
  • They are sprung on one side and are supplied with a 75mm length spindle that can be cut down to size.
  • We can supply a 90mm spindle upon request.

FINISH

Beeswax: A traditional metalworking technique used since Tudor times. The metal is heated until it darkens and then dipped in natural beeswax which gives it a lovely soft black wrought iron effect that looks fabulous in any traditional or contemporary interior. As beeswax is a natural finish that reacts with the underlying metal during the forging process, it often has a subtle, slightly mottled patina with undertones of deep grey or ochre. It is not waterproof, so will need to be re-waxed occasionally.

Kindly note, we do not recommend the beeswax finish for use in a humid environment, as it is harder to maintain and may rust. We feel Matt Black is a preferable option.
