Single Curtis Spot Light in Antiqued Brass

Item No. 3128AB
9W x 18.6H x 8D (cm)
A traditionally styled, hand crafted, single spotlight, our Curtis combines the practicality of a spotlight with the beauty of our Club Wall Light, with which it shares a similarly shaped shade. The Curtis is ideally suited as a down lighter for your kitchen, bedroom or living room. It’s pretty spun shade, raised edge and visible braided cable, gives it a retro feel that would suit a contemporary home as much as it would a period one.

The Curtis is scaled to work in a small space as well as a large one and features a head that can be angled through 90 degrees and rotated through 350 degrees so you can focus your light wherever you want it. Shown above in our lightly Antiqued Brass finish, it is dimmable if used with a dimmable GU 10 bulb and dimmer switch and is available as a double spot version.

All Jim Lawrence lights are made using traditional metal working techniques and are hand finished to the very highest standards here at our Suffolk workshop. We recommend our GU10 LED Spot bulb as a great choice to accompany any of our spotlights.  It instantly lights to full strength, has a lovely warm white beam and has a 36 degree beam which has a wider reach than most spot bulbs.

Finish

Antique Brass: Created by treating solid brass with antiquing solution to speed up the natural tarnishing process to create a lovely aged look that will darken naturally over time. Antiqued Brass is an incredibly versatile finish that works well with any colourway and natural building materials such as brick, stone, plaster or woodwork and looks equally at home in a modern property as it does a period one. To lighten the brass just buff it occasionally with a small amount of brass cleaner to return it to its original hue.

Where does it look good?

  • Hung in a row on the walls above your kitchen units to give tasking light where needed.
  • Paired either side of your oven, hob or kitchen sink.
  • Used as cosy, subdued bedtime lighting on either side of your bed.
  • On a chimney breast or above your Aga or range of you have a country style kitchen.
  • Fixed to exposed beams or in alcoves to highlight the beauty of architectural features.
  • Fixed to joists in high, vaulted ceilings in barn or loft conversions to add to the ambience of your lighting.

  • Lovely light
We bought this to go with our other JL lights and have found this one particularly charming. It is quite small but sits perfectly in our study.
