All our fireside products are hand forged using traditional blacksmithing techniques that have remained unchanged for generations. Our Hand Forged Fire Grate is an essential component for an open fireplace as it allows the fuel to burn with a clean flow or air underneath minimising smoke release. It is crafted from solid, high quality iron which is hand finished to the highest standards here at our Suffolk workshop. This grate is finished in our smart, hard-wearing Matt Black paint which is produced in a powder coating process to create an incredibly smooth, durable surface suitable for use indoors and out. PRODUCT INFORMATION Dimensions: The grate is 63cm wide x 42cm deep x 28cm high at the back and 32cm high at the front. Weight: This it is a very heavy item, weighing 40kg so may need to be lifted by two people.HEAVY ITEM - due to its weight this item is delivered on a pallet and incurs a £50 carriage charge for destinations in mainland UK. Our Customer Services Team will call when it is ready to ship to arrange a convenient day for delivery by our specialist provider Palletforce. We do not ship this item internationally. Please call for delivery to Northern Ireland and the British Isles. If you order more than one heavy item, we will do our best to combine items onto one pallet, but please be aware this may not be possible and you may incur an additional £50 delivery charge. FINISH Matt Black: This grate is made from cast iron that is painted Matt Black, a clean uniform finish that looks fantastic in any contemporary or traditional interior and works well with natural building materials like brick, stone, wood and plaster. It also looks equally at home in a modern property as it does a period one. The painted finish on this fire grate is purely cosmetic and will burn off over time time and use but this will not effect its overall look or performance.
