In an age when adornment was unaffordable for most, blacksmiths designed home fittings to be as pretty as they were practical, so these handsome butt hinges will not only look good on your doors, but should last for years. This hinge has been crafted from solid, natural brass and has been antiqued to give it a subtle, aged appearance. They are generally fitted at the top and bottom of a door, but for a heavier door you may also need one in the middle. We also make a brass rectangular butt hinge as an alternative style. The hinge is washered and has no bearings. It supports a maximum weight of 40kg.
