This classic, sheet metal bookend is designed with a charcterful Paw cut out and a 'foot' that slides under the books and uses use the weight to clamp the brace in place, keeping your books compact and in whatever configuration you choose. Practical as well as pretty, this bookend will keep your books tidy as well as provide a stylish flair and touch of fun to your decor. The use of bookends dates to the Renaissance when books became more readily available and collections were valuable, so the need to store and organise them on shelves or in cabinets became a must. In our manufacturing, we love to celebrate the beauty of honest, natural metals and felt that our antiqued brass was the perfect finish as it brings out the very best of the underlying patina of aged brass that we know will look wonderful gracing bookshelves in a period or modern setting. PRODUCT INFORMATION Dimensions: 17.3H x 13W x 12.5D (cms)Finish: Lacquered Antiqued Brass - A beautiful, natural finish produced by gently distressing the brass to create a soft patina that is then treated with antiquing solution to speed up the natural tarnishing process and then lightly coat each piece with a clear matt lacquer. This seals the items – preventing unwanted marks to create a lovely aged look that will darken naturally over time.
