DESCRIPTION This clever brass shade adaptor enables you to use a standard bayonet lampholder (BC) with shades that have an aperture (hole) designed for larger, screw-in (ES) lamp holders. The adaptor screws onto your bayonet lampholder to provide a larger fitting for the shade that is then secured in place with the brass shade ring.In the UK, our light bulbs tend to come with a bayonet fitting (BC, B22, push and twist) with a diameter of 22mm, while in Europe light fittings are generally designed for screw-in bulbs (ES, E27) that have a diameter of 27mm. If you have a light with a BC fitting and wish to use it with a shade that has an ES fitting, you will need an adaptor to close the gap!This is where our nifty shade adaptor comes in:Simply screw the larger part of the adaptor to your BC lamp holder until it reaches the top of the thread.Offer up your shade and hold it in place while you screw the supplied shade ring to the adaptor.Tighten the shade ring until it has a firm grip of the shade so that it is held firmly in place.Kindly note: The adaptor is designed for use with Jim Lawrence shades but should also fit any ES shade although we have not tested it on other products.
