Shown above in our lovely polished steel lacquer, this letter plate surround is handmade from high quality steel that has been polished to a deep, gunmetal grey. It has a lovely, weighty appearance that can only be achieved by traditional blacksmithing methods. Incorporating bevelled edging and a letter flap that helps to keep out draughts, our Large Letter Plate has the look of a vintage find that is as practical as it is decorative. All Jim Lawrence products are made using traditional metal working techniques and are hand finished to the highest standards at our Suffolk workshops. All our letter plates are available in a selection of finishes to complement our range of door furniture. Kindly note, our external letter plates are sprung so can be used vertically. However, our internal letter plates do not have a spring, so are not recommended for doors with vertical letterboxes.
