Our oversized Canterbury Lantern is a stunningly handsome outdoor pendant light that will instantly draw your eye thanks to its imposing proportions.
In its making, we were inspired by the beauty of Georgian and Victorian carriage lanterns that we have reimagined in a simpler, more contemporary, yet practical style for today’s homes. Designed to illuminate a substantial entrance, large front door or high ceilinged porch, it has a robust quality and timeless elegance that will suit modern as well as period properties.
Our Large Canterbury is hand forged from high quality steel that is painted matt black for a smart, uniform appearance and is IP rated 23. All
Jim Lawrence products are made using traditional metal working techniques and are hand finished to the very highest standards here at our Suffolk workshop. This lantern is supplied with 50cm of matt black chain and black cable for ceiling mounting, but if you wish to attach it to a wall you will need a suitable bracket. Please see our
wall brackets range for more details.- The Large Canterbury takes an ES (E27) Screw in bulb.
- We recommend our Edison Screw Globe LED bulb as the perfect accompaniment for your light because it has a lovely heritage look with its visible filaments, lights to full strength instantly, is dimmable and has a lumens (brightness) that is equivalent to a 60W regular bulb.
