Alternatively, you could place them either side of a fireplace or wall mirror as part of a formal scheme to create a sense of drama. All Jim Lawrence products are made using traditional metal working techniques and are finished to the highest standards at our Suffolk workshop. This Friston is made from high quality forged iron that is dipped in beeswax to give it our popular soft black finish. Candles are sold separately and can be found here. The Friston Wall Sconce is 24cm high x 21cm wide and 11.5cm deep. Finish Beeswax: A traditional technique used since Tudor times. The metal is heated until it darkens and then dipped in natural beeswax which gives is a lovely soft black wrought iron effect which looks fabulous in any traditional or contemporary interior. As beeswax is a natural finish that reacts with the underlying metal during the forging process, it often has a subtle, slightly mottled patina with undertones of deep grey or ochre.
