DESCRIPTION
A twin to our single version, the Double Gosford Wall Light will bring a compact, handmade elegance to your interior scheme. Hand forged from solid steel and finished in our polished lacquer, it features low slung curved arms and a generously proportioned backplate that will take pride of place on your living room, bedroom or kitchen walls, without taking up too much room. With our customary attention to detail, we have designed these lights with dainty drip trays and a beautifully bevelled backplate that shows off the quality of craftsmenship that we are known for.

Jim Lawrence has worked hard over the past 20 years to build up an international reputation for classic, high quality lighting and we feel our Gosford really encapsulates our passion for elegant, period look wall lighting. All our lights are made using traditional metal working techniques and are hand finished to the very highest standards here at our Suffolk workshop.
  • This is a flush fitting light so you may need to use an architrave box and reducer lid behind the backplate to hide the wiring if you cannot make a cavity in your wall - see Our Backplates Explained.
  • We recommend our LED Clear Candle Bulb as the perfect accompaniment to your light as it is designed to replicate the traditional look of an incandescent bulb, lights up instantly, is dimmable and will flood your room with a soft warm light.
  • The Double Gosford is not supplied with shades but we have a huge collection of handmade candle clip shades in a multitude of colours to find your perfect match.

How to Maintain Metallic Finishes

Finish

Polished Lacquer: This really showcases the stunning natural patina of the metal and is a great choice for a contemporary home or to update a traditional one. To produce the gunmetal grey colour, we polish the metal then seal it with a high gloss clear lacquer to create a finish with great durability. The texture and patina of the iron itself gives the product character which looks wonderful with a grey or natural colour way and works particularly with other metallic finishes such as nickel. It also looks great against natural building materials such as brick, stone, plaster or woodwork and looks equally as good in a modern property as it does a period one.

Where does it look good?

  • The Double Gosford looks particularly good hung as a pair either side of an architectural feature like a chimney breast or in an alcove in your living or dining room.
  • Try framing a mantelpiece, bedroom mirror, window or door by hanging one each side.
  • They also look wonderful hanging in a row along a narrow hallway, landing or up a staircase where space is limited.
