Not surprisingly, these qualities makes it much sought after in both period and contemporary homes for soft furnishings and bedding. All our silk shades have a fabulous natural sheen and distinctive weave that makes them stand out from the rest, however, as a natural fabric they do need looking after as they can fade and deteriorate over time. We make this shade to fit a lamp base, but we also make it with a pendant fitting if you would like to use it as a ceiling light. We strongly recommend that you order a swatch before ordering any of our fabrics to help you decide if it is right for you. The fabric is made using raw silk yarns that are tightly woven together to produce a highly lustrous surface with natural 'slubs' ( lumps and bumps of thickened yarn) that are characteristic of silk but may not be everyone's taste, especially if you are after a more uniform look. Natural silk may also fade over time, especially in darker colours.We always recommend orderings a free swatch to check the fabric is to your liking before you order.
