All Jim Lawrence products are made using traditional metal working techniques and are hand finished to the highest standards at our Suffolk workshops. our external letter plates are sprung so can be used vertically.However, our internal letter plates do not have a spring, so are not recommended for doors with vertical letterboxes.Kindly note, brass is a natural metal and will tarnish (darken) with age.
