DESCRIPTION A beautiful, hand forged single plug socket made from forged iron and beeswaxed for a traditional look that will add a touch of style to your room. This plug socket combines a 1 gang, 13 amp switched, slimline design with black inserts and antique brass rocker switch to create a simple sleek look to suit modern and traditional homes. All our sockets are hand forged from high grade brass or steel and sit flush against the wall, with a raised bevelled or hammered edge for a decorative touch to suit any interior. All Jim Lawrence switches and sockets are made using traditional metal working techniques and are hand finished to the very highest standards here at our Suffolk workshop.Kindly note: Please ensure paint & plaster is completely dry before fitting beeswax switches and sockets to a wall. Our switches are designed to sit flush against the wall so any residual moisture might tarnish the finish. We do not recommend beeswax for rooms with high humidity as it is harder to maintain and may rust. We suggest matt black is a better alternative. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Minimum back box depth: 35mm Delivery: Orders, Deliveries and Returns KNOWLEDGE BASE GUIDES How to Maintain Beeswax Everything You Need to Know About Switches and SocketsHow to Wire Switches and Sockets FINISH Beeswax: A traditional technique used since Tudor times. The metal is heated until it darkens and then dipped in natural beeswax which gives is a lovely soft black wrought iron effect which looks fabulous in any traditional or contemporary interior. As beeswax is a natural finish that reacts with the underlying metal during the forging process, it often has a subtle, slightly mottled patina with undertones of deep grey or ochre. It is not waterproof, so will need to be rewaxed occasionally. For more information please read our Knowledge Base guide linked above.
