PRODUCTION GLASS BLOWER



This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Suffolk Glass / Jim Lawrence Lighting & Home team and become an integral part of ensuring its heritage of designing and manufacturing award-winning products, is maintained.


WHO WE NEED


Suffolk Glass is seeking an experienced Production Glass Blower for varied glass blowing jobs including heating, gathering and shaping molten glass using blowpipes and tools.
  • You will be crafting hand finished products to quality control specifications and cutting glass at your workbench while ensuring there is minimal wastage.
  • You will need to maintain a safe working environment, making sure you follow health and safety procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain the studio, furnaces and tools.

Ideally you will have had experience in a production environment, and worked with different types of glass - fine fluted, fluted, clear and colour - and able to carry out bench and lathe work.
  • Good numeracy is key, as is the ability to work without supervision after the initial training period.

You will be based at Suffolk Glass, Chilton Street, Clare, Sudbury, CO10 8QS

Suffolk Glass is an artisan glassmakers based in Clare that has been making glass for 50 years. They became part of the Jim Lawrence family in 2022. Jim Lawrence is a family owned business that has built up a reputation for making high-quality lighting and home accessories using traditional, handcrafted techniques and today employs a skilled team of engineers, technicians, welders, painters, seamstresses, designers, and lampshade makers alongside a cohort of support staff in their Suffolk workshop.
