MAKE A BAY WINDOW TEMPLATE
PREPARE YOUR PAPER TEMPLATE
Use something robust like brown paper or wallpaper to make your template. Baking parchment or newspaper is too flimsy and is likely to tear.
Push the paper to the back wall or skirting board in your bay window area.
Fold in the corners to follow the angles of your wall.
DON'T FORGET TO:
- Measure at ground level, not at pole or ceiling height.
CUT YOUR TEMPLATE TO SHAPE
Start off by cutting away the excess paper to show the angles.
Then mark on the template where you would like the finials to begin.
Make sure they are clearly marked.
DON'T FORGET TO
- Mark your template ‘This Way Up’ to help our team lay it out correctly.
LABEL YOUR TEMPLATE WITH DETAILS
- Mark on the template where you would like the brackets to be.
- We will make the necessary allowances for the depth of the bracket from the wall and any window sills, radiators etc that you have advised us of.
- State on the template whether you have made your template against the wall or a skirting board.
- If a skirting board, please state on the template the depth of your skirting board from the wall.
- Please state if you are fitting the brackets to the wall or window frame.
- It is also helpful if you mark on the template if you intend to hang full length curtains.
