This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Jim Lawrence Lighting & Home team and become an integral part of ensuring its heritage of designing and manufacturing award-winning products, is maintained.

We are seeking a part-time sales assistant to work in our Bath Showroom, for 20 hours a week from Monday- Saturday. As the successful candidate, you will be able to provide excellent, professional, knowledgeable and personalised customer service to customers in the showroom and on the phone as well as liaise with our Suffolk workshop to ensure smooth completion of all orders.

The Jim Lawrence story began back in 1994 at Jim and Sheena’s farm when they installed a forge and started to make bespoke metal fittings for friends and neighbours. Roll forward to today and the Jim Lawrence name is a well-respected in the lighting and home furnishings industry with a reputation for making high-quality lighting and home accessories using traditional handcrafted techniques.

The team has expanded greatly since then, but our ethos to nurture British craftsmanship remains the same. Today we employ a skilled team of 145 engineers, welders, painters, seamstresses, designers, lampshade makers and technicians, alongside a cohort of support staff in our Suffolk workshop.

ABOUT THE ROLE


Your job will be ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service as you will be able to offer customers creative and practical advice and recommendations when needed and address and resolve complaints and queries promptly and professionally.

You will be expected to promote and maintain the Jim Lawrence brand reputation and ensure the showroom, stockroom and all displays are presented to the highest possible standards, and be responsible for creating customer accounts, quotations, sales orders, sales returns, and maintain up-to date notes on customer requirements.

We expect you to maintain an in-depth knowledge of Jim Lawrence products and liaise with other departments within the company as required.


WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR


You will have a strong background in providing excellent customer service by working in a similar environment, where delivering the best customer service experience really matters.
  • All applicants will need to be computer-literate, although training in our specific company software will be given
  • All applicants will need to demonstrate impeccable communication skills both verbal and written
  • A keen interest in period homes, homeware and interior design would be a real advantage.
