PEOPLE ADMINISTRATOR

We are looking for an Administrator to join our People Function Team at the Jim Lawrence workshops in Hadligh, Suffolk. The purpose of this role is to provide confidential and effective support to the People Business Partner and our colleagues during this exciting time when we have lots of projects in motion.

The Jim Lawrence story began back in 1994 at Jim and Sheena’s farm when they installed a forge and started to make bespoke metal fittings for friends and neighbours. Roll forward to today and the Jim Lawrence name is a well-respected in the lighting and home furnishings industry with a reputation for making high-quality lighting and home accessories using traditional handcrafted techniques.
The team has expanded greatly since then, but our ethos to nurture British craftsmanship remains the same. Today we employ a skilled team of 145 engineers, welders, painters, seamstresses, designers, lampshade makers and technicians, alongside a cohort of support staff in our Suffolk workshop.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a strong administrator, ideally with HR exposure or experience at administrative or assistant level to report to the People Business Partner.
You will be the first point of contact for all people queries from colleagues and managers across the company. You will be supporting the team with monthly payroll processes and recruitment activities such as advertising, arranging interviews and onboarding.
We need administrative support for the whole employee life cycle and to help managers with people processes such as absence management and investigations.
You will also be responsible for Occupational Health support with our external provider; for collecting data and reporting back to the HR team and supporting us with employee engagement and wellbeing activities.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for someone with strong IT skills who has excellent attention to detail and is a great communicator. Ideally you should be happy to get involved with change management with a desire to support a positive working culture. The ability to multi-task and work on several projects simultaneously is important.
Our full time working week is Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, however, for the right person we can consider part time working and are happy to discuss this at interview.
