DESCRIPTION
Reminiscent of a shield or suit of spades in a deck of cards, our Islay Escutcheon plate is a nod to our gothic inheritance. Hand cast from solid brass and plated in silvery Nickel, it features a similarly shaped flap that will add decorative interest as well as keep draughts ou. The Islay will bring a subtle, but delightful, touch of grandeur to your door.
  • The Islay is 5cm high and 3.5cm wide and is suitable for use indoors and out.
  • It makes the perfect companion to our other antique brass door furniture and is also available in our forged iron look version in beeswax, matt back or polished lacquer.

FINISH

Nickel: Our nickel finish has a bright, silvery quality that is more akin to Chromium than many other nickel finishes available elsewhere. Its lustre is created by plating solid brass with highly polished nickel and then finishing it with a flash coating of chrome that will add to its durability. Nickel is a versatile finish that works well with any colourway and natural building materials such as brick, stone, plaster or woodwork. It looks equally at home in a modern property as it does a period one and being highly reflective, will catch the light more than our painted finishes, so is great to use if you want to make a statement, as it will help draw your eye.
