Heritage Escutcheon Plate in Beeswax (discontinued, only stock shown available)
With its decorative bee shaped flap, our Heritage Escutcheon plate will provide a smart and charming finish to your door. Hand cast from solid steel, it is as beautiful as it is practical, keeping draughts at bay and bringing decorative interest to your scheme.
Shown here in our beeswax finish, it works well with any colourway and looks equally at home in a contemporary setting as a traditional one. Beeswax is a traditional technique used for sealing metal since Tudor times. The steel is heated until it darkens and then dipped in natural beeswax which gives is a lovely soft black wrought iron effect which looks fabulous in any modern or period interior.
The Heritage Escutcheon is 6.5cm high x 2.5cm wide and is also available in our matt black and polished lacquer finishes as well as a brass version in antique brass, nickel or polished brass.
Kindly note, do not recommend the beeswax finish for bathrooms or outdoor use as it will rust in a humid environment. We feel that Matt Black is the preferable option.
