Finishes

Our solid brass door furniture is supplied in natural polished finish and will tarnish over time, but if regularly polished with brass polish and a soft cloth it will gradually attain a beautiful aged patina.

The brass is dipped in an antiquing solution, which simply speeds up the natural tarnishing process. Once this is done the brass has a natural aged effect which will tarnish more deeply over time.

The item is hand painted with a subtle mixture of green verdigris paints. This gives the effect of rusting copper. For indoor use only.

The item is painted matt black. This is a very hardwearing, uniform finish which is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

The items are polished to a gunmetal/pewter style finish, which is then lacquered to seal and protect it. This finish is suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

The item is first primed and then painted with a matt ivory finish. A hint of gold and a small splash of red are then applied to give the finish its antique effect. For indoor use only.

The item is first finished with a red primer and then painted with a matt gold. A very subtle antiquing solution is then applied and rubbed in so that some of the red primer glints through the gold. For indoor use only.

The item is heated until the steel darkens and then dipped into hot beeswax. As the beeswax cools and hardens it gives a traditional wrought iron effect to the item. However, this finish is not waterproof and would not be suitable for outdoor use and is not recommended for use in bathrooms.

The item is painted white. This is a very hardwearing, uniform finish which is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

This is a very stylish and hardwearing pale green painted finish, which is suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

The item is highly polished and then nickel plated giving a bright high lustre appearance. This finish is suitable for indoor use only.
